School Photography
School Picture Day is a day every parent either looks forward to, or hates, every single year. Let DBS Photography help your school community forever love Picture Day! Not only will we work very closely with your staff to create a fun and relaxed portrait session for each child, but parents never have to decide how many photos they will purchase before they see the images. We utilize an easy online ordering system, where parents can browse their children’s portraits and place orders at their leisure.
We photograph K-12 Schools and offer our services to Preschools as well.

Gone are pre-order forms that can be lost or misplaced. The proofing and ordering process is done completely online. Approximately 2-3 weeks prior to Picture Day, we will provide flyers with information about your school Picture Day. Your school will receive a template to fill out with all of the necessary student and staff information to pre-register for Picture Day. This information is crucial to the success of Picture Day, and we cannot proceed without it. We take student privacy very seriously, and never use this information for any marketing purposes outside of Picture Day. Parent email addresses are used to create private, secure, individual galleries for parents to view their children's images.
Once the school gallery is ready, all information on how to order, deadlines, and frequently asked questions, is sent directly to parents. Parents are given a password-protected gallery, where each child's collection of images are available to select from. Pictures may be ordered as prints or digital files, or as a variety of personalized memorabilia.
SITE VISIT
A few weeks before Picture Day, we will come to your school to evaluate the location, and to determine what equipment we will need for lighting, and what backdrops will work best with your setting. We offer individual and class photos, and we are happy to discuss the best option for your class images when we come in to view the location.
RETAKES?
Retakes are offered for students who were absent on picture day, and will take place in our studio to ensure the least disruption for students. If preferred, we can also set up a retake day at your school (minimum of 20 students required for us to come out with our setup).

DISCUSS PICTURE DAY, BUT DON'T STRESS YOUR CHILD OUT!
On the day of the photo shoot, we recommend telling them it's Picture Day. That's it!
There’s no need to remind your child to smile, stand up tall, or keep their eyes open. In fact, we've found that these types of instructions often make the process more difficult, because the child focuses too intently on trying to do everything perfectly, instead of just being natural in front of the camera. Our photographers will do their absolute best to get those natural, genuine smiles. We will have pose banners readily available and make the process as simple and as efficient as possible!
What should my child wear?
CLOTHING: BRIGHT, COLORFUL, AND LAYERED!
Dress your child in clothes that are comfortable, but clean. Layers are great - they photograph nicely.
Please avoid clothing with crazy patterns, logos, graphics, or words on them as they may get scrunched up or cut off.
Your child's photos will be taken using a solid white background. A variety of backdrops will be available for you to choose from when your child's images are ready for purchase.
We will take multiple photos of each child, and we may even request some silly expressions in order to capture what we hope is a true smile! We have a lot of tricks up our sleeves and will spend a little more time with each child than most other school photographers.
How many poses does each student get?
Each student is offered a variety of poses, based on their age group and comfort level. Parents may choose one, none, a handful or all poses when ordering.
What about Class Photos?
Class photos are composited from the individual images.
How will I know when my photos are ready?
You will receive an email within 1-2 weeks of the last picture day for your organization to let you know that your photos are ready. This email will also include a link to your gallery.

How long until my photos are ready?
All photos will be uploaded to private password-protected galleries within 2 weeks of picture day. Once photos are made available for purchase, you will receive an email to access your child's gallery. If you have more than one child, you will be able to view and purchase their photos at the same time.
Can I see the photos before ordering?
Absolutely! You will be sent a proofing gallery to view the images prior to placing an order. All ordering is done online via a password-protected gallery. There are no prepay forms, so you can choose which images you'd like to order!
How do I place an order?
Each family receives access to an easy-to-use online website that showcases each child's photos in individually password-protected online galleries. Parents order right there in the gallery; it's even easy to view sibling galleries and check out all at once!
When will I receive my order?
Orders are sent directly to the lab once approved, and will be shipped directly to the purchaser's home, usually within two weeks of ordering. Digitals are typically available for download immediately after approval (within a few hours).
Can grandma/other extended family members order?
One of the wonderful things about the online gallery is that anyone with the password (or forwarded link) can place an order. If your family members are out of state or not local, they can still have their orders shipped directly to them!
